Sanyu Babies Home is completely relying on volunteers to assist them to set up the operating structures required to ensure the Home can continue to help the many precious and vulnerable lives that rely on them for everything.

As various income generating projects get underway, and with the ideas to expand on them in the future the Home requires assistance / skilled people to assist.

Administration / secretarial / filing / database skills

Financial accounting

Nursing care

Builders / electricians / plumbers (for both renovations and new constructions)

Farmer – practical advice on chickens / pig farming

Social workers

PR / Publicity / marketing skills

Designers / civil engineer to assist with planning future improvements to the Home as well as the designs/ construction of new guest type housing

Printers to offer assistance with printing publicity material

If you have a skill then I’m sure you will be able to assist these children in some way!!

Sanyu Babies Home has a special place in my heart, having visited the home 3 times over the last 4 years I am always counting down the days till I can come back! I have to admit to feeling somewhat of a fraud when people say how wonderful and self-less my volunteer work is when to be honest I have the most fun when I am there. Seeing a baby admitted in a malnourished and neglected state laugh for the first time would melt the heart of even the toughest person - which many would say was me! The family at Sanyu are so welcoming and really make you feel part of the team. To volunteer at Sanyu is not only rewarding but life changing, to see life through the eyes of an abandoned child is truly humbling and life affirming.
